Measure slopes, distances and heights on your elevation model. The shadows in the orthophoto generate a good height perception which you can enforce with the contours lens.
Small changes in elevation are difficult to see with the naked eye but can influence the flow of water significantly. The slope directions lens generates arrows which make it easy to understand the hydrology of a location.
Lidar data don't come with an orthophoto and the terrain lenses help you to create a meaningful appearance. The hill shade lens adds the perception of relief which you normally have from your orthophoto.
Sometimes your orthophoto is too bright or too dark. In this case, the slope steepness lens will help you detect the breaks in the topography.
The transparent lens allows you to see through the terrain and help you to compare with previous topographic surveys that are now underground.

Look through a different set of "glasses" and get insight in your topography: water flows, terrain breaks, contours, ... Show your lidar data with the hillshade lens. Watch how it's done!
A quick 3D measurement can contain a lot of value. Perform quick slope, distance and height measurements without sending a surveyor on site. Is the constructed bank within specifications? Is the slope angle safe?
